The"Beau-site" hotel, a stone building of four floors, was erected in an historical rural style and was equipped in 1924 with a wooden and glass veranda. The house did not change over the years neither in its structure nor in its numerous details: coloured windows which, around midday, are transforming the corridor in a kaleidoscope, or the large lavabos in ceramic in the rooms, the interiors which surprises by the clarity of taints and the generosity of its volume. Fully renovated in a positive spirit of casualness mixed with respect, this idyllic house allows to the most stressed persons to find back peace and rest. Excerpt from the guide " the most beautiful hotels of Switzerland" of the Swiss heritage, edition 2003. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This report has been established on 28 October 1999 Location: Built on the west side of the village, and somewhat aside from the centre, the "Beau-Site" hotel located in Chemin-Dessus, is granted with a high value, from an historical preservation point of view. The Object: The hotel was erected, in its present structure, in 1912. In 1924, the owner at that time, Mr Pellaud-Crettex, sells the unique advantages of his modern hotel being: electricity, bathrooms in the hotel, post and telegraph, telephone and its fixture and fittings: large glass veranda, terrace, tennis court, croquet. The hotel is built on five floors (with the last one built under a half hipped roof) A large veranda on the second floor was erected on a concrete basement opened with bay windows on its full length. Private and symmetric balconies. Garden with an open pavilion in one corner. The " Beau-Site" hotel, by its dimension, its location and its unique architectural design can be qualified as a good testimony representative of the hostelry architecture of our canton at the beginning of the century. Respect of character: The various modifications always aiming at improving the level of comfort can be qualified as smooth and respectful of the original disposition and furbishing. In addition the owner has quite well preserved the atmosphere and a quite unique ambiance through a personal touch to embellish the whole and a permanent preoccupation for an accurate maintenance despite limited financial resources.
